Mga Agos sa Disyerto

This is review for the book I've receive from Goodreads friend.
The book is written in Tagalog (my language) therefore I wrote my review in Tagalog. Before reading this book I did not even know that a time will come where I will have problem reading stories in my language. It was really hard for me to read it and I had to Google a lot of word to know what meant. Not only that, because of this book I finally realize something; I'm writer and a bookworm but not a book critic.

I promised this friend before receiving the book that I'll participate in their critic mag but in the end I'll have to resolve in getting outside help in order to meet the required length. However with all this pressure off me now, I can finally resume reading and writing and no more I'm never making promises anymore that I haven't tried yet. I'll still be writing Goodreads review but maybe that's it. It's been a long but challenging month for me.

Okay then, so here's the book!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Eurovision 2013

For ten years of watching European song contest (Eurovision) I’m so happy that tonight the one I’ve been cheering for the most in the contest are the one who win! Yaay! Hurra for Danmark! You were great!

I love the music and the performance! I love the fact that the singer walked around barefoot. Though I’m bit sad too because I would actually like to see the Belarus as the second and Finland as the third (though the kiss at the end of her singing turn me off a bit. Not because I'm against it, I just don't find it to match the music in my imagination)

Ireland wasn’t bad too, and it's too sad that they came in as last since in my opinion, they’re actually better than the one who came in second, Azerbaijan.

Okay here's the video of the winner!

And for my second runner up Belarus!

And my third runner up! Finland!

I also love the Malta's song! The singer is a doctor and he look liked he could melt your sickness away with his smile. A special song from him.

I could not find the one from the contest but here's the original music video.

BUT my favorites did not stop at that. I also like the song from Iceland, Greece, Ukraine, Ireland and of course Azerbaijan.

Genre: Romance, Comedy

Summary: For 10 years Saika has done everything she can to get close to her love Keishi. She followed him to the same high school, joined the same committees, and even changed her outward personality to become the right match for Keishi. One day, looking for Keishi in the special section of the school, she runs into the school's trouble-maker Kirisaki Shin. As he begins to bully her, her true personality comes out: loud-mouthed and violent. To her dismay, Kirisaki decides that he likes that kind of girl. Lovey Dovey is the story of Saika's trials and tribulations in a love triangle at a school where "Love is Prohibited." (Source: Animenewsnetwork)

Though it's annoying why a school would forbid their student to have a relationships. Lovey-dovey still a great manga, very mild smut but lot's funny and romantic moments. The drama is light hearted and though it's reverse harem it's not bad at all because no one seem to get hurts too deep. I love it for that.

The characters are so lovable. Shin never fail to cracked me up or surprised me with his lack of common sense, his childisness, hot temper and irrational attitude but most of all his honest and straightforward personality.

I also like Saika, I like how she don't lost her sight of who she truly love, unlike many shoujo manga, who a strong character person who suddenly break and fall for the person who's next to her. Which was actually what I was expecting in the beginning but I'm glad to be wrong!

Though the main characters become a couple very early in the story, there's no exchange partners or major problem between them. The story focused more on how they struggle to keep their relationship as others tries to break it apart.

Oh and though I was not all for it that he would be partner with Saika, I love Keishi! I like how he make bad and challenging statements with a smile.

By the way. The director is really annoying! What's up with him! Even if his draw to be handsome, I want to destroy his face! One thing that his wife is responsible for him to act bad toward Shin, it's another story for him to lay a hand on someone else girlfriend!

It's really fun to read and I hope there's going to be an anime for it.

Monkey high volume 5

Monkey High!, Vol. 8Monkey High!, Vol. 8 by Shouko Akira
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Okay, so I've read the complete volumes. And nothing. I have nothing to complain at all. Haruna bothered me a bit when she was confessed by Atsu but it went clear right away when she didn't waver about her feeling for Matcharu all the way to the end. And Macharu is just adorable from the first volume to the last. He acts so innocence and can be such a kid but then he clearly shows that he's a man when he needed to be. I love how he stand up to Haruna's father and how confident he is even when everyone else try to degrade him.

Paradise Kiss

Yukari wants nothing more than to make her parents happy by studying hard and getting into a good college.  However, one afternoon she was kidnapped by a group of self-styled fashionistas calling themselves "Paradise Kiss." Then suddenly Yukari finds herself flung into the roller-coaster life of the fashion world, guided by George, art-snob extraordinaire. In a glamorous makeover of body, mind and soul, she is turned from a hapless bookworm into a exclusive clothing model.

My Review:

Warning!!! The following review may be a possible spoiler!

My overall rating for Paradise Kiss from volume 1-4 is 5/5 for Vol. 5 is still 5/5, minus one. Why is that? I tell you. I read the manga many years ago and couldn't stop reading every book release. It just have everything! Romance, Drama and Comedy. So funny I get tears  from laughing, sometimes too sad I can't stop my tears from falling. And the most terrible of all is how the series break my heart over and over.  I cursed the Hero and Heroin for their decisions in the end. But on the same time later I still watch the anime. I know I would be hurting but I still continue. I can't help it. Paradise kiss have a very captivating ability, in all side, the story plot, fashion, arts, and most of all George and Yukari. For me they are like a thread and needle, they are the main tools to make a great looking dress. Their relationship keep me coming back for more. This story is one of those bittersweet story that I can't seem to hate...
