Flame of Recca

Flame of Recca, Vol. 33 (Flame of Recca, #33)Flame of Recca, Vol. 33 by Nobuyuki Anzai
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I've read this manga series many years ago and read I've the series again and again since then. What I like about this series is that there's not much of an annoying characters, well they could annoying but on the understandable level. The drawing isn't so beautiful and to be honest I was a bit turn off when I first open the first page but as I continue to read I started loving them, the story was great and I couldn't care anymore if they wasn't that great I wish. I love the action, the adventures and the twist of the story.

I've also watched the anime and it's just equally good as the manga. :) Though this manga and anime remind be so much of Yuyu Hakusho, my number 1 favorite. I've written many review of the anime in the past but since I haven't read the manga yet I've haven't posted any review of YYH even my previous blogs.

The Thirsty Sparrow

Isang Mayang UhawIsang Mayang Uhaw by Virgilio S. Almario
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love this story! The book really teach kids that there comes a lot of time when you have to use your common sense. I've read this story in a text book when I was a kid. And while I was reading it I also keep wondering how I would be doing if I was that little bird, just to be able to drink that water at the bottom of the glass.

I would have given this story a 5 stars but because of the same reason as K.D mention (view spoiler)[it's really stupid that the writer/illustrator made him carry the stones to fill the glass using his wing and not the feet, I his using it to fly (hide spoiler)] I give it a four star.

Roles: A Not Quite Unread Novel

Reading this book is a crazy ride. I can really relate to it, sometimes being in the jungle full of wild animals is way better than to be in high school where you have to watch yourself all the time. I like this book. Fast and easy to read, though the ending was a damn cliffhanger and I'm hoping that one reviewer on the sequel wasn't exactly right when he said that the sequel wasn't much of a continuation of the ending here :(

Honey Moon

Honey MoonHoney Moon by Shouko Akira
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Well the first story is the usual two-stranger-become-siblings-become-lover kind of thing, it’s a predictable story but I can’t seem to stay away from reading this kind of story anyway.
What I hate in this kind of plot is that most of the story has always the older-"sister", why? Can’t the boy be the older one for once? I’m fine with girls being older; in fact I already have stories where the heroine is older but I don’t think it happens a lot in real life (or do it happens often now?)

Anyway, with age aside, I also find it strange that two parents would just leave their two teenage kids who've just met alone. However, with all that being said I still read the story all the way to the end and enjoyed seeing the inevitable unfold.

The second and fourth story is cute.

But my favorite is the 3rd story :)
